BioIncubate Ignite is a unique opportunity for entrepreneurial students interested in biotech ready to transform ideas into solutions. Whether you have an idea or simply the drive to innovate, this program will provide the essential funding, lab space and expert guidance to help you succeed from the earliest stage possible. We welcome students and researchers of all levels and backgrounds to apply.

Program overview:
Bonfire Mixer: Join us for an evening of pitching, brainstorming, and networking. Meet potential teammates, exchange ideas, and start building your team. Practice pitching your venture for the Selection Event.
Application: The application will be a 3-5 page summary of your business & research proposal.
Selection Event: The top teams will be invited to pitch their ideas in a 5-minute presentation. The two best teams will be admitted into the Build Phase.
Build Phase: The top 2 teams, each receiving a CHF 8,000 grant, will spend the next six months developing their project in the lab, refining their technology, and building a viable business plan.
Showcase Event: At the end of the Build Phase, both teams will showcase their idea in front of an expert jury, with the best team receiving a CHF 5,000 cash prize.
Application
Everyone is welcome to apply and join, however, there are some requirements for the program:
Participant teams must have at least one member who is currently a student (Bachelor, Masters, or PhD) or Post-doctoral researcher at a Swiss university.
Team size limited to 2-6 members
Time commitment - although the program is designed to run alongside regular studies, participants should be ready to dedicate a meaningful effort and time towards their projects. Additionally, should the project have a lab component, the majority of the team members should be physically present at Zürich throughout the build phase of the program (from November to April 2025) and be ready to spend time in the BioIncubate lab.

Before applying to the program you must register as an individual or a team here. Also join the community Slack where you can meet new potential teammates, ask questions, and get updates on the applications.
2. Apply to the program
Applications will be open in early October. Make sure you have been registered by then, and expect details on how to apply will be updated directly on the upload form.
